Is there a relationship between homelessness and enlightenment?
Is there anyone out there right now that is homeless? Are you enlightened too?
Will you chat?

Re: Homelessness
Tue, August 8, 2006 - 2:31 AMCurrently not homeless, but been there, done that. Enlightened? to a degree. I could quite happily live under a tree, were that permitted. In this country, it's unacceptable, whereas in India? I'd be a holy man. : )
are you homeless just now?

Wed, August 9, 2006 - 8:05 PMFurthermore...............living on the street. gives you a certain philosophy, as in "I complained because I had no shoes,...............then I met a man who had no feet." so yes you tend to count your blessings a fair bit. if you're wise that is. Counting your blessings is a good thing to do, rather than counting your wants. If all the world was to count it's blessings instead of it's wants................. Might be a better place.? Hey? -

Re: Homelessness
Wed, August 16, 2006 - 5:00 AMThe now famous Eckart Tolle was homeless for a while, so was i, still am sort of (living in exile). I presume it helps for enlightenment a lot not to have too much material lugguage, depends, how you deal with the situation: if you take it as a chance or a curse. Also, according to my observation, the less material lugguage people have, the more charismatic they are...

Thu, August 17, 2006 - 7:20 AMIt seems when you have excess luggage the Universe has a way of ejecting it wether you like it or not.

Re: Homelessness
Thu, August 17, 2006 - 2:09 PMoh, you will have to wait a few years. i will move to Auroville, realising that for the time being I still need outer surroundings with likeminded beings to get a sensation of 'home' Theoretically, when being completing grounded in the body, not in the heart center but more solar plexus, you good be just anywhere in the world...unfortunately not my present state of being - and even then the human being is social in its nature. Living like Milarepa does not sound very appealing for me...

Re: Homelessness
Thu, August 17, 2006 - 10:50 PMAuroville? where is that?.................
As to like minded beings, well, none of us is perfect, so you may find yourself dis-illusioned at some point. To me, home is not in this dimension, but it does exist.
Do you know of the Dogon tribe of Africa? they say their home is on a moon of the star Sirius, and they said this long before the european even discovered that moon.
Nope we are here to rid ourselves of Karma and to learn our lessons and become suitable beings for higher realms, where we CAN get along together. We need to learn lots of understandings .
So therefore, we are all homeless till we get it together, & learn about Sharing and Caring, respecting our environment, mother Earth, and each other, not to mention the enlightened ones in the Ether around us.
Which means we need to grow up! ( my understanding anyway) We also need to stop killing each other. : ) -
